What a day!

Well, our Saturday started out pretty great!
I had made the blue gelatin and Parker was super excited about eating...or as he said "Catching fish" in his jello.
The kids really thought these were fun to eat - just make blue jello and set in fridge until firm. Than, with a sharp knife, cuts slits and strategically place the Swedish fish into the jello!

Voila - instant hit!

This picture is super bad and doesn't really show how cute these "blue fish bowls" are!

The BIG NEWS came when my mom called and said that my dad had been in an accident on his bike and broke his hip. He was rushed to the hospital and had to have surgery. I am so grateful that my husband holds the priesthood and was able to meet my dad's home teacher down at the hospital to give him a blessing. We were pretty amazed that he only hurt his hip and didn't have further damage!
He was pretty frustrated and upset that this happened but even being in pain he had all of the doctors and nursing staff laughing it up! I heard the one nurse calling up to the operating room and saying, "Take good care of him - he really made my day today by coming in here!"
Happy to say - He is now out of surgery and in recovery and we are praying that he will heal quickly!
Thanks for all the calls and prayers!

Sorry to hear that about your dad! Glad to hear he's doing okay. Hope he recovers quickly.

Are my kids the only kids that don't like Jello? Those look so fun.

I'm so sorry about your cute dad. Please give he and your mom my love. Here's a hug for you, too. I bet those nurses just LOVE him!

Holy cow, I bet your dad was cracking them all up, even though he is all cracked up. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. Did he get lots of hardware?
