In a split second!

{I know bad picture - it's from my hubby's I-phone}
We were cruising through the beginnings of Christmas and wow! did my mom ever have the plans laid out for this family! On Monday, we took the kids bowling and were back at my sister's house to eat dinner. Well, somewhere between dinner and dessert, a handful of cousins ran outdoors in the drizzling rain and got onto my sister's trampoline. They were jumping and having the best time, but with a group of kids, it can get crazy. The net that encases the kids was intact, but the zipper that closes them in, wasn't. It had been zipped up because kids were coming and going. While the kids were jumping and playing, Parker got pushed and flew right threw the whole and onto the concrete. He didn't have time to brace himself, and so he landed on the back of his head. All I can remember is being in the kitchen and hearing a crack on the concrete. Someone yelled Parker's name and I started screaming. It was pretty scary to see your baby looking yellow/gray and not really crying but wanting me to hold him. We immediately called 911 and the ambulance came and whisked Parker and myself to the ER. On the way over to the hospital, a lot of little prayers were said as I tried to force Parker to stay awake. He was quite the trooper and he has been laying low ever since but what a scare!
it is yet another reminder of how fragile life is and how blessed I am to have healthy kids that don't have to spend days or weeks in the hospital. My heart really goes out to those who do - it is not an easy sight to see your child hurt or scared.

POST NOTE: Today we were both at home, and Parker heard an ambulance siren outside. He looked at me and said, "Mom - are they coming to get me again?"
That is one experience he {or I} will not soon forget!

I teared up just thinking about hearing that sound and people yelling his name. So scary for you! I'm glad he's going to be okay.
