Happy Day Mom!

"I believe that if we could truly understand the atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ, we would realize how precious is One son or daughter of God. I believe our Heavenly father's everlasting purpose for His children is generally achieved by the small and simple things we do for one another.... Sadly, in today's world, a person's importance is often judged by the size of the audience before which he or she performs...that may be why roles as father and mother seldom receive standing ovations.  Yet, in the eyes of the Lord, there may be only one size of audience that that is of lasting importance - and that is just one, each one, you and me, each one of the children of God!"
Elder M. Russell Ballard

How fitting for that quote and to share it on my mom's birthday today! I am so grateful for a mom that cared more for {and still does} the audience of her children and always did her best in raising her five girls.  She did a great job and I love her so much!

My mom was the valedictorian of her college in speech and drama - she could have pursued many a dream with that degree! Yet, she chose to have and raise us girls and I am so thankful she did! Now, as I am in the thick of raising my own - I find myself doing many of the same creative and fun things she did for us as children.

Happy Birthday Mom! We love you!
I made these little Molly dog cupcakes in honor of my Mom's best friend!
They turned out pretty cute!
